Administrative fines from BRSA to 18 banks

The BRSA decided to impose an administrative fine of 102.1 million TL in total on 18 banks upon customer complaints.

ISTANBUL (AA) – Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) stated that it was decided to impose an administrative fine of 102.1 million TL to 18 banks on the grounds that a transaction contrary to the instructions was initiated.

In a written statement from the BRSA, it was stated that the complaints submitted to the institution by individual and commercial customers in the process of combating the new type of coronavirus (Kovid-19) epidemic were examined.

The statement recorded:

“In this context, with the decision of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Board dated 29 May 2020 and numbered 9039, the Banking Law No. 5411 has Pursuant to subparagraph (b) of Article 148, it has been decided to impose an administrative fine of 102.1 million TL on 18 banks in total. The investigation processes regarding these complaints are continuing uninterruptedly.
