By the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA), the Asset Ratio (AR) value was reduced from 95 percent to 90 percent for deposit banks and from 75 percent to 70 percent for participation banks as of October 1.

According to the decision of the Board on the BRSA’s official website, the monthly average of the AR calculated by the banks at the end of each month was reduced from 95 percent to 90 percent for deposit banks. The mentioned value was reduced from 75 percent to 70 percent for participation banks.

In this context, as of the end of each month, the monthly average of AR for that month will not fall below 90 percent for deposit banks and 70 percent for participation banks. The new AR values determined will be effective from October 1.

The excess amount to be taken as basis will be calculated as the amount of change in the share that will bring the ratio to 90 percent and 70 percent, respectively, for deposit banks with AR values below 90 percent and participation banks below 70 percent as of the end of the relevant month.

In this context, the AR formula has also been revised. The share of the formula is calculated as “loans + (securities * 0.75) + (CBRT Swap * 0.5)” and its denominator as “TL Deposit + (FX Deposit * 1.75)”.
